"Man, you best back off, I'm getting a wee bit pissed here."

By now, I bet you heard about some loser who manage to modify his PC copy of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas so he can do a mini game where he can have sex with a girlfriend in the game. People are demanding that the rating be changed from a M rated game to an AO game (that's Adults Only). You'd think that the thing would be dismissed as dumbassery since you HAVE to be 18 to buy a Mature rated game.

It's bullshit and Tycho from Penny Arcade says it best about the rating:

"The ESRB is suggesting that they may change the rating of the game to Adults Only, a category that by their own definition should see a great deal more use in a retail environment. This is great. Look at the descriptions for these.

MATURE Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, and/or strong language.

Or, as the rest of our culture calls it, "Rated R." Check out AO.

ADULTS ONLY Titles rated AO (Adults Only) have content that should only be played by persons 18 years and older. Titles in this category may include prolonged scenes of intense violence and/or graphic sexual content and nudity."


Funny how one mod of a PC game results in the rating boost and perhaps a big hit in the company's finances (Thanks to dumbass people buying the game for younger kids, cheating the whole rating thing and they never get blamed for that) and meanwhile, God of War is more violent than GTA, all of the women running around with no tops on, AND had a sex mini game already in it with no mod needed...and NO ONE GIVES A FUCK!

What about the Lesiure Suit Larry series? Does any of those "moral watchtower" notice that shit? Nope. What about Fear Effect and it's prequel back in the PS1 days where the big hyped up thing was two lesbians as the main characters? Not a peep!

All these groups care about is sticking it to Rockstar for GTA and Manhunt and not about protecting their kids from violence in the media (which is easy as making sure they are not doing what you don't want them to do.)

In other news, I started work and it's fuckin' exhausing. My parents say I should wait two whole weeks before I decide if I want to keep working or not. I personally don't think my body and mind will last that long.
